Award-winning
Journalist: Before establishing Rose Communications,
Rosemary Weathers was an award-winning journalist — an editorial
page editor, lifestyle editor, medical and health columnist, and
special assignment reporter covering the state capitol. She also
was a television news commentator, appearing regularly on Comment
on Kentucky on KET, a PBS affiliate.
Public
Relations Executive: Rosemary also was Director
of Public Relations for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, where
she directed all public relations regionally, nationally and internationally,
including the CSO’s tours in Europe, Asia and the United States.
Under her direction, public relations elevated the orchestra’s
profile, with cover stories in international magazines, articles
in major U.S. newspapers, and extensive coverage in regional media.
She also established a community relations program that garnered
recognition for inclusion and diversity.
Government
Experience: Rosemary was also Executive Advisor
to the Commissioner and Director of Communications for the Kentucky
Department of Insurance, where she directed state and national public
affairs, organized statewide public forums on health care reform
and assisted in drafting legislation on health insurance. She helped
publish the state’s first Market Report on Health Insurance
and served on national committees on health insurance, senior citizen
affairs and discrimination issues.
Community
Involvement: Rosemary has been an adjunct associate
professor of journalism, has extensive community service and has
held leadership positions in a number of regional, state and national
organizations. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including
Society of Professional Journalists and Scripps Howard awards for
writing and editing, and community service awards for work in education,
health and literacy. Rosemary balances business with an active family
life, including her sons, Michael and Peter.
Rose Communications
is dedicated to advancing the reputation and good name of its clients
through Strategic Public Relations, Professional Communications
and Marketing. The public relations agency is based in Northern
Kentucky and Cincinnati, with a national and international resume.
